I loath the idea of using a.i. in any form of art. Doing so completely diminishes the entire work. But more importantly, it completely devalues all of the hard work and years of training we artist put into learning, tuning, and mastering our skills.
What is the point of creating if a computer program can do the work for us, and often better, with just a few brainless clicks of a mouse? Why hire a trained and skilled artist, when one can use basically any a.i. program to do it for free or next to no cost?
I very often see many fools, including artists, defend using a.i.. And this breaks my heart as you wouldn't believe. Fools comparing it's introduction to that of photography vs paintings or physical vs digital. These fools all miss the core point. Not only does a.i. ILLEGALLY steal and use images to create it's images, but it creates with practically zero effort. A.I. "art" is the equivalent of duct taping a banana to a wall. It's a insult to all real creators.
Do not mistrude what I'm saying. A.I. has it's place. And that place should ONLY BE for concepting ideas. It should be used for testing out ideas in a visual form to see if it will work or not. Also known as "image bashing," where artist quickly sketch out ideas or bring images together to test said ideas and improve upon them.
Sadly, a.i. is not being used in this manner. Instead, it is being used to create final images, videos, and books. So much so that Disney has already used it to create an increadibly ugly intro for their dumb "Marvel's Invasion" show. Amazon is now flooded with fake books ranging from children's coloring books to 500+ page novels! A.I. generated audio and video (ie deep fakes) have already creeped into our news feeds and initially believed to be real!
America has a Presidential Election in just over a year (2024). An there is a major war between Russia and Ukraine as I type this. A.I. generated lies have already come out around the war. How are we going to be able to trust anything centered around the American Election? A.I. is literally taking over all aspect of our digital lives already. Search engines are using them, art programs are using them, social media is using them, and even our devices are now using them. And it's all moving to a.i. as a default!
I hate a.i.. And I will NEVER use it in my art, minus for quick idea brainstorming. The purpose of this post is to show how easy a.i. can take over our lives and jobs, as creators. The attached images are all my original art that have been ran through a simple free a.i. tool. With just a short string of descriptive, the program has completely transformed each piece into images that barely resemble the original art. All of the original art can be found either on here or throughout my social media accounts or online galleries. I do not wish to promote the a.i. program used, so I will not be naming it.
To those that wish to say "Just Adabt," you can all kindly screw off. A.I. is destroying all forms of art and media with practically zero effort.
